The ONLY 5 Lines You Need To Tell Any Story

Tim Runia

Duration: 10m

In this video, Tim shares how he went from endlessly overthinking his edits and staring at a messy timeline to using a simple “5-Line Story” method that instantly clarifies any script. He breaks down each line, Situation, Desire, Conflict, Change, Result, so you can pinpoint your story’s core before you write, shoot, or edit.

You’ll see how big movies like The Lion King follow the same structure, why simplicity beats complexity, and how this approach saved him hours of planning.

He walks through real examples, shows you his own 5-Line core from the video that got him to 10K subscribers, and explains why simple, natural storytelling hooks viewers and keeps them watching.

If you’ve ever felt lost in gear choices, fancy transitions, or rewrite loops, this easy story formula will keep your creative projects focused, efficient, and emotionally engaging every time.

Hey there, my name is Tim Runia, a filmmaker from the Netherlands.

After co-founding the video production company Tante Tini and dedicating seven years to its growth, I've decided to embark on a new journey to explore new realms of creativity.

Throughout my career, I've specialized in directing and editing commercial content for various brands.

What sets my projects apart is the soul I pour into them. I see each video as a form of art, and I'm always on the lookout for projects that ignite my passion and creativity.

I have a soft spot for videos that incorporate a creative twist and a hint of comedy. Yet, I'm equally drawn to projects that allow me to tap into my more artistic side. Whether it's adding humor or infusing deeper meaning, I strive to create work that resonates with authenticity and leaves a lasting impression.

Alongside directing and editing larger projects, I'm also personally handling the camera for smaller projects. This means I'm also open to working as a solo filmmaker or in a small team, embracing the opportunity to bring intimate projects to life with the same dedication and enthusiasm.
