Why You Need to Learn Green Screen Lighting

Aputure

Duration: 13m

On this episode of Back to Set, we're filming a scene that involves a green screen. We're going through the process of lighting the green screen, live keying it, and making lighting decisions based off of the plate. It's a great way to turn any location that you have into anything that fits in your story, and hopefully it will help you out in any project in the future.

Why are we doing this in the first place? A lot of times, you will have to reshoot scenes in your film because of creative or logistical reasons or you may be limited by the budget. Whatever the case may be, you can rest assured knowing that the techniques that we present in this video will work for the budget-friendly filmmaker since all that is needed are a camera, green screen backdrop setup, a couple of lights, and a vision for the lighting.

Aputure was founded in 2005 by a team of inspired photographers and filmmakers who wanted to create high-quality content, but struggled with steep cost of equipment needed to do so. Determined to create professional-grade equipment at an affordable price, they started Aputure: the first company to provide affordable camera accessories with the quality and functions needed to fully realize any creative vision.

As a part of the creative community, Aputure continues to develop for the ever-expanding needs of budding artists. Each member of our team has felt the burning desire to bring a creative vision to life at all costs. We're here to keep that fire alive.
